Andalou Naturals meets a minimum 70% certified organic ingredient content in all our formulations, utilizing exceptional organic, natural origin, and biologically active ingredients at effective levels to ensure beautiful results.

We Champion Certified Organic, Natural Origin, BioActive and Fair-Trade Certified Ingredients, Verified Gluten-Free, Vegetarian, Eco-Friendly, Biodegradable, and Cruelty-Free Formulas.

We Reject Animal Testing, Sulfates, Petrochemicals, Phthalates, Synthetic Colors and Dyes, Artificial Fragrances, Triclosan, GMO, PEG, MEA, TEA, DEA, Synthetic and Paraben Preservatives.

Our Packaging & Point of Sale Materials ~ Resource Friendly

All Andalou cartons are completely recyclable. Certified FSC* Mixed Sources; Product group from well-managed forests, controlled sources and recycled wood or fiber. *Forest Stewardship Council

All Andalou bottles and jars are widely recyclable and 100% BPA-free.

The packaging is designed to be beautiful, but also to minimize the shipping materials necessary to protect our products during processing and handling.

Our label laminates, intended to protect the label from scratching, use one-third less of the sheet material of typical labels.

Our printed materials use post-consumer recycled content, and vegetable-based inks that are low VOC and solvent free.

We utilize advanced printing techniques, which require 20% less ink during the printing process than conventional printers.

Our in-store point-of-sale displays are re-useable and made from recyclable materials.

Our sturdy permanent in-store displays are constructed from natural materials, wood, bamboo and metal, for durability and then easily separated for recycling when their usefulness is fulfilled.


Our Business ~ Earth Friendly

Warehouse

We collaborate to ensure our shipping practices and facilities are environmentally responsible and as low-impact as possible.

We actively engage with our shipping partners and manufacturers for innovative and cost-effective ways to save energy, reduce our carbon footprint, and utilize new technologies to reduce or eliminate air emissions and assure clean water.

We’ve partnered with FedEx as a primary carrier for small package and LTL (Less than Truckload) freight for their leadership in sustainable shipping practices, fuel-efficiency standards, clean-vehicle technology, hybrid-electric delivery trucks, renewable energy production and purchase.

The California-based FedEx facility in our region runs on 80% solar energy, which saves enough energy to power more than 900 homes daily.

For our website orders, we source shipping boxes from other companies’ obsolete inventory, boxes that would otherwise be sent for recycling.

We save and reuse all incoming packing materials, like bubble wrap and foam peanuts, and shred paper to use for packing our outgoing shipments.

When additional packing material is needed, we utilize certified sustainable sources; certified recycled content and/or certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council), the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest, and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative.

For zero-emission and reduced noise levels, we use electric forklifts in our warehouse facility.

All of our wood pallets are made from repurposed and reconditioned pallets.

Offices

Our green office practices are forward thinking for an environmentally safe and responsible work place.

We use innovative online technology, file sharing and cloud storage, to eliminate paper files.

The paper we use is 100% post-consumer recycled content, chlorine-free processed, FSC certified and endorsed by the Rainforest Alliance.

Paper sheets are maximized, using both sides, and always recycled when outdated.

All materials, including food packaging, are included in our recycling program.

We’ve made every effort to eliminate duplicate and junk mail by contacting senders, confirming vendor catalogs only to be sent when requested, and ordering single magazine subscriptions for sharing.

Our appliances are Energy Star, and the energy-saving water coolers are filled with locally sourced spring water, located in the office and warehouse, to replace individual water bottles.

Energy-efficient lighting is installed throughout our offices and parking lot.

Window blinds, green insulation materials, and a computerized thermostat are used for consistent and energy-saving temperature control.

Best of all, our beautiful Marin County offices are centrally located, near the highway and within walking distance of downtown shops and restaurants, which allows us to walk instead of drive to lunch and the farmers market.
